nib New Zealand announces new Chief Financial Officer
Alvin Soh joins nib New Zealand as Chief Financial Officer.
Private health insurer nib New Zealand (nib) announces Alvin Soh joins the company as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), commencing his role today.
Soh is a chartered accountant with over 20 years of commercial experience in leadership roles. He is currently the CFO at Shuttlerock Ltd and has held previous CFO roles at Online Republic Group Ltd and Flight Centre (NZ) Ltd.
nib Chief Executive officer, Rob Hennin said he was pleased to welcome such an experienced and accomplished CFO to the team.
“Alvin is an accomplished CFO with a wealth of knowledge in financial management and excellent leadership experience. We have delivered solid results for FY23 and look forward to continued growth under Alvin’s guidance and leadership,” said Hennin.
Soh’s appointment follows last year’s departure of CFO, Nick Cory, after 10 years with the company. Gina Esdaile, Senior Manager Financial Reporting took on the role of Acting CFO until Soh joined the company today.
“It’s no easy feat to replace our previous CFO Nick Cory after 10 very successful years with the company including acquisitions, new partnerships and significant growth, but the company has been in good hands with Gina while we waited for Alvin to join the team,” said Hennin.
Soh said he was looking forward to a new challenge and joining the insurance sector.
“nib has had strong financial growth while continuing to deliver value to its members and I’m excited to be part of that journey going forward. It’s exciting to join a new industry and I look forward to the opportunities ahead,” said Soh.
